Greetings.
Welcome. Thank you for visiting our website.
The corporate philosophy of Oshima-ya is "Making everyone happy with the beauty of Japan."
We strive to operate the company every day with the goal of creating a business where all people involved,
including customers, creators, partners, and tailors, can experience happiness.
If you have any questions about kimono, feel free to consult us with confidence.

Headquarters | Oshimaya Kimono Store
Oshima-ya Kimono Shop was founded by the first generation, Kosuke Oshima, who started a kimono business in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, during the Edo period. Later, the business relocated to Gosen City, where it began its current operations.
Founded in Gosen City in 1906 (Meiji 39), Oshima-ya Kimono Shop later established Oshima-ya Kimono Co., Ltd. in 1973 (Showa 48), and has continued to operate to this day.
The Gosen Great Fire in the early Showa period caused the loss of many of the records up until that time. However, today, "Oshima-ya" operates two locations: the main store in Gosen City, Niigata Prefecture, and a by-appointment-only salon in Niigata City.
We primarily handle dyed and woven products from across Japan and offer suggestions tailored to the purpose and occasion for wearing kimono. We place great importance on supporting our customers' dreams and desires.
In addition to explaining the materials and occasions, we also offer suggestions tailored to your lifestyle and life goals. Feel free to contact us at any time.
Additionally, for customers from distant locations or those who are interested in trying kimono for the first time, we strive to share a variety of products and information through our online shopping site, allowing them to enjoy their shopping experience.

Kimono Lifestyle Salon Oshima-ya (Opened in 2019)
We renovated a 30-year-old traditional Japanese house to create a space where you can relax and enjoy Japanese culture.
"Oshima-ya" is a salon that specializes in dyed and woven crafts, offering "beautiful Japanese items tailored to modern lifestyles."
At times, we also offer the opportunity to experience traditional Japanese refined pastimes, and our space can be used to create lasting memories during various occasions with your loved ones.

Furoshikiya
Driven by the desire to share the charm of furoshiki with a wider audience, we first began selling online.
Later, in 2006, we opened the furoshiki specialty store "Furoshikiya" in Yoneyama, Chūō-ku, Niigata City, and served many customers until July 2019.
Currently, furoshiki can be viewed at the following locations in addition to our main store.
